Within the UAE, Dubai secures the 28th position on the list of cities with the most billionaires, with a total of 21 billionaires residing there.The Hurun Global Rich List revealed a significant increase in the number of Wealthiest individuals and wealth accumulated by billionaires worldwide in 2024.

The list featured 2,435 firms from 73 countries, with a 9% increase in the collective wealth of billionaires and a 5% increase in their numbers. This growth highlights the continued growth and dynamism of the global economy. The list’s deadline for wealth calculation was set for January 15th.

Even with 155 billionaires moving outside, China continues to lead the world in the number of billionaires, with an amazing 814 people on the most recent list. This resolve highlights China’s strong economic environment and its capacity to foster wealth and success inside its boundaries.

With 109 more billionaires added, the United States was close by with 800 billionaires. With 84 more billionaires, India ranked third on the list with 271 total wealthy individuals, nearly twice as many as the UK, which ended in fourth place with 146 billionaires. After Germany, which ranks fifth with 140 billionaires, they are followed by Switzerland, Russia, France, Italy, France, and Brazil, all of whom have made billions of dollars.

According to the city, New York has reclaimed its title as the global hub for billionaires, followed by London in second place. Shanghai and Beijing ended in fourth and fifth place, respectively, behind Mumbai in third place overall.

A combined value of $426 billion in new wealth has been generated by the world’s ten richest people, making about 56% of all new wealth. 10% of the total list is made up of their $1.5 trillion total net worth. Among these individuals, eight hail from the United States, and one each is from India and France.

Elon Musk, who is 52 years old, has become the world’s richest person for the third time in four years with a mind-boggling worth of $231 billion, mostly because Tesla’s shares have skyrocketed. Jeff Bezos, who is 60, is right behind him in second place, with $185 billion. His wealth shot up by 57% because Amazon is doing really well in cloud computing.

After dropping to third place with $175 billion, Bernard Arnault, 74, was closely followed in fourth place by Mark Zuckerberg, 39, with $158 billion, and in fifth place by Warren Buffett, 93, and Larry Ellison, 79, both with $144 billion.
