6 Major Projects In Dubai That Will Transform How Residents Live In The Future 

When inaugurating the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, declared a plan to make Dubai the perfect city for urban living by giving amazing amenities. As per the scheme, the score of Dubai tenants is expected to touch 5.8 million by 2040, while the daytime population is set to enhance to 7.8 million in 2040.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, CEO and Managing Director of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, stated the corporation is guided by the vision and directives of Sheikh Mohammed to maintain speed with Dubai’s ambitious urban schemes. “We do that through planning that is depending on the current future-shaping tools,” he stated. “Electricity and water infrastructure extension schemes are depending on demand anticipations till 2030, concerning the demographic and economic development in the emirate.”

  • Largest single-site natural gas power generation facility in the world 

DEWA’s Jebel Ali Power and Desalination Complex is one of the major pillars to give Dubai high-quality, efficient, and trusted electricity and water services. The complex is confirmed by Guinness World Records as the biggest single-site natural gas power production amenity in the world at a capacity of 9,547 MW. The complex includes two major plants for power production and water desalination. Plant – 1, with a generation ability of 2,761 MW, consists of stations D, E, and G. Plant – 2, with a generation capacity of 6,786 MW, consists of stations K, L, and M.

  • Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park 

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which DEWA is executing, is the biggest single-site solar park in the world, utilizing the independent power producer model. This would have a generation capability of 5,000 MW by 2030 with an overall acquisition of Dh50 billion.

Upon its completion, the Solar Park would decrease by over 6.5 million tons of carbon output yearly. The recent capacity at the Solar Park is 1,527 MW utilizing solar power panels.   • A hydroelectric power plant in Hatta 

DEWA is recently forming a 250MW pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant in Hatta. The plant’s generation capacity is set to touch 250 MW with a storage capacity of 1,500 MW-hours and a lifetime of around 80 years.

It has been the first of its type in the Gulf sector, with acquisitions of across Dh 1.421 billion.
