3. A complete journey about the company? When & Where Ahmed Al Qubaisi started?
The idea was born in Abu Dhabi the capital of the United Arab Emirates, and it was inspired by the new industry attributes and user demand that has evolved during the quarantine and lockdown period.
It was apparent that there is a need for a new solution that addresses the non-existence of a one-hub media that can carry out effective user-brand real-time interactions, recurring events, and must-visit gems.
A relevant outing deals finder of within-the-city pop-ups and gems that boost real-life traffic and attendance to events and venues.
Thus, the POP UPS project was initiated in Sep 2021 to develop a model that caters to our inspiration with the integration of user reward programs that have never been introduced before. A powerful tool that can help clients convert walk-in customers to social media advocates and brand-loyal customers.
The journey of founder and co-founders?
A founder journey that has extended through times of eager and heavy searching for knowledge and the right team to work with. In early 2022, the developer team and financial expert were allocated, and a close friend investment round was called to get the project the required funding to build up a dynamic tool with multiple user types, features, and loyalty models.
The project resulted in producing the first phase of the software halfway through 2023, which focuses more on the online shop introduction, client experience improvements, and customer acquisition aspects. During the same time, the soft launch was announced to run multiple demos of the app to acquire real user test feedback from both ends (Customers and clients).
Ever since June 2023 up to the end of the same year, the Technical team has been assessing and enhancing the platform’s financial features, customer experience modalities, and design.
In addition, more technical experts have been involved in drawing technical model blueprints to prepare for the official launch of the POP UPS Phase 1 Mobile App, which is planned to be announced within the first half of 2024.
Along the parallel timelines of the project, the founders have managed to attract enough professionals to join the work and many potential investors, thanks to the exposure found when exhibiting in Gitex 2023 Dubai and Global Media Congress Abu Dhabi 2023 and the demos created in different venues and occasions.
At the moment, an official team has been called to lead the business plan operations in the UAE with a newly joined Co-Founder & CTO Mr. Adbulaziz Al Ruwaili. The business plan will invite new investors and business partners at a pre-seed stage, also lay down the foundations of such an innovative model enabling users in the UAE to enjoy the benefit of the POP UPS mobile App lifestyle.
