DEWA has started its annual awareness campaign to encourage everyone to improve their electricity and water usage during the summer. This campaign, called “Welcome Summer with Green Habits,” began in June 2024 and will continue until August. The major objective is to inform individuals about how much water and power they use, as well as to introduce them to the cutting-edge digital services and technologies offered by DEWA.
These digital services and tools help people monitor and manage their usage proactively and digitally. They also help detect water leaks immediately, which reduces waste. By following some simple and easy daily habits, people can adopt sustainable practices that protect the environment and conserve resources.
Through this campaign, DEWA aims to promote a bearable lifestyle for environmental safety and resource protection.
“We are launching a variety of innovative initiatives and programs aimed at educating both individuals and organizations about the importance of sustainability and ways to reduce their carbon footprint. Our goal is to show everyone how crucial their active participation is in promoting sustainable development and achieving net-zero emissions.
As part of the UAE’s Year of Sustainability, which has now been extended into 2024, we are committed to using the latest technologies to help all stakeholders participate effectively in efforts to combat global warming. This includes utilizing advanced tools and methods to manage energy and water usage more efficiently, detect and fix water leaks quickly, and implement daily habits that conserve resources.
These initiatives are created not only to disclose but also to designate people to make meaningful changes. By understanding the impact of their actions, individuals and organizations can contribute to a larger collective effort to mitigate climate change. We think that by utilizing the opportunities presented by climate change, we can guarantee a more environmentally sound and sustainable future for coming generations.
Our goal in doing these initiatives is to establish a sustainable culture that goes beyond knowledge. We want people to actively participate in and commit to practices that support the environment. This is vital for achieving our long-term objectives of reducing carbon emissions and promoting a healthy, sustainable planet.
Our use of cutting-edge technology plays a crucial part in this mission. By leveraging these tools, we can provide stakeholders with real-time data and insights that help them make more informed decisions about their energy and water consumption. This forceful system is vital for promoting a more sustainable lifestyle.” stated HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
During the campaign, DEWA organized a variety of activities to raise awareness about their digital services and how they can help increase the efficiency of electricity and water use.
