Island in the Sky: Dubai’s Vision for Enhanced Wellbeing
Therme Dubai – Islands in the Sky – a sky-touching tower with a magnificent height of 100 meters (around 330 ft) will feature hanging botanical gardens, stacked terraces, and pools filled with thermal and mineral-rich waters. This grand structure will set a benchmark by taking wellness and urban integration to its peak and is anticipated to welcome 1.7 million visitors annually.
Therme Group’s Founder and CEO, Dr. Robert Hanea said that Dubai is a futuristic city that understands building a future with wellbeing as one of its major aspects. He further said that they are determining how to integrate culture, water, and nature into cities to enhance the standard of living in cities on a large scale. This stellar project will serve as an amazing example for other nations across the world of what can be achieved when ambition and expertise combine.
Islands in the Sky will appear as an oasis in the sky – a sky-touching ethereal retreat, designed to incorporate nature and urban city living. The design of this outstanding project visualizes floating platforms that will serve as an island with diverse environments, ranging from dense green terraces and saunas to thermal pools and cultural spaces.
DS + R’s Founding Partner, Elizabeth Diller explained that each island is a platform for thermal pools, verdant indoor, and outdoor vegetation, and decks, each providing a different atmosphere, and each will offer alluring and striking views of Dubai’s glitzy skyline. She further explained that during the day, these islands will offer an atmosphere for relaxation and meditation; however, during the night, these spaces will allow one to witness the real charm of the city’s nightlife with music, artistic performances, and events.
Redefined Urban & Luxurious Lifestyle with Sustainability at its Core
In addition to aesthetics and elegance, Dubai’s latest futuristic landmark design is centered on sustainable development. According to Therme Dubai’s developer, 90% of the water that will be used in its thermal pools will be recycled. Additionally, 80% of the requirement for cooling and fresh air will be fulfilled through green energy sources. This towering futuristic project will align with the city’s vision for long-term urban sustainable development by incorporating the latest energy-efficient systems and smart resource management.
The Therme Group on the sustainability aspect stated that Dubai’s 2040 Urban Plans and their group’s goals are strongly associated. Both of them believe in the development and progression of the cities with the enhancement of human well-being, environmental harmony, and connection. Further, the group stated that apart from being a collaboration, this development is a new perspective on cities and their role in creating a more healthy future for everybody.
