Dubai: RTA Dubai has announced free shuttle bus services for visitors during the Easter weekend 2025. The significant Christian festival of Easter falls this year on April 20, and to make it more convenient for residents to travel to different churches across the city, the RTA announced free-of-charge bus services.
From April 18 (Friday) to April 20 (Sunday), free-of-charge shuttle bus services will be operated between the Energy Metro Station and the Churches Complex in Jebel Ali. The operating hours for the free Dubai RTA Easter bus services 2025 will be from 8 AM to 8 PM.
Easter Free Bus Services: UAE Embraces Religious Diversity
Even though Easter is not observed as a public holiday in the Emirates, it is widely celebrated by expatriates in the country. Most of the government or public offices on the occasion of Easter remain open; however, expatriates are free to celebrate their auspicious festival without any restrictions.
To confirm convenient transport to Christian residents for prayers during the Easter weekend 2025, the RTA Dubai announced free shuttle bus services. This initiative was confirmed by RTA in a social media post, which said the free Dubai RTA Easter bus services 2025 initiative aligns with the Emirates’ leadership’s vision to encourage unity, mutual respect, and diversity.
This initiative highlights RTA’s dedication to connecting the emirate’s multicultural population. Also, those residents who wish to visit churches and participate in Easter gatherings in Oud Metha can use Dubai Metro services, as the Oud Metha Station is within walking distance of many church venues.
RTA Launched New-Generation Electric Bus
On April 16, 2025, the RTA launched the operation of a new-generation electric bus under its broad initiative to secure 0% emissions by the public transport system by 2050. At present, the advanced electric bus under this significant pilot program is serving Route 13. The feeder bus service starts from Al Quoz Bus Depot and offers services to key areas, including Burj Khalifa, Dubai Fountain, Dubai Mall Metro Bus Stop, and The Palace Downtown Hotel. This initiative showcases Dubai RTA’s commitment to incorporating greener and advanced mobility solutions across the emirate’s transport network.
