The Anti-Narcotics Conference, a pivotal component of the upcoming World Police Summit (WPS) organized by Dubai Police, will center on narcotics prevention and associated crimes. Operating under the theme ‘Drugs, Trafficking, Online Drug Promotion, and Their Impact on Youth and Society,’ this critical event is scheduled to unfold from March 5th to 7th, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Serving as a global forum, the Anti-Narcotics Conference aims to delve into comprehensive strategies for combating the illicit use of drugs, refining responses to emerging drug trafficking trends, and evaluating their repercussions on both youth and society at large.
Major General Eid Mohammed Thani Harib, who serves as the Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics at Dubai Police, emphasized the World Police Summit’s pivotal role as a valuable opportunity for fostering collaboration among law enforcement agencies, security organizations, and entities dedicated to combating narcotics-related crimes globally. He outlined, “The conference unfolds with a strategic session titled ‘United Nations Strategy to Counter the Technical Use of Illicit Drug Trafficking and Psychotropic Substances.’ Additionally, a forward-looking session delves into the realm of ‘Electronic Marketing: New Horizons for Drug Smuggling.’ The agenda encompasses a spectrum of key topics, including ‘Cooperation and Its Role in Reducing Drug Smuggling,’ ‘The Role of Institutions, Community Service, and Psychiatric Medicine in Protecting Youngsters against Drug Abuse and Addiction,’ and ‘Best Practices and International Experiences in the Field of International Cooperation to Combat Drugs.’ Each session is meticulously curated to foster meaningful discussions and insights into combating the multifaceted challenges associated with drug abuse and trafficking.”

“The conference has forged strategic collaborations with distinguished partners, including the Emirates Drugs Control Council, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Pan-Arab Bureau for Narcotics Affairs, the GCC-Criminal Information Center to Combat Drugs, and The Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse in Egypt. These collaborations underscore our commitment to a united front against the global challenge of drug abuse.”
Brig. Bin Muwaiza underscored that the conference serves as a valuable platform catering to diverse groups, including attendees, participants, and decision-makers in drug control agencies.
