Dubai Women Establishment Reveals Agenda for Global Women’s Forum – Dubai 2024

Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Gender Balance Council (UAE GBC) and President of the Dubai Women Establishment (DWE), expressed her profound appreciation to the UAE’s visionary leadership for their continuous support of women and for extending their role in the country’s growth and development.  

She stated, “As the Global Women’s Forum holds its third edition in Dubai, it continues to fulfill its foundational mission set eight years ago, striving to unite global efforts in empowering women and promoting gender equality. This highlights the UAE’s distinguished position, highlighted by its substantial progress in international competitiveness rankings. The UAE is committed to furthering these achievements, working towards the highest levels of excellence by enhancing women’s influential and crucial roles in society.”  

Her Highness highlighted the UAE’s forward-thinking supervision, which has placed the nation among the global leaders in gender balance and women’s empowerment. This achievement is reflected in the UAE’s ranking 1st regionally and 7th globally in the 2024 Gender Equality Index published by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The UAE continues to support global efforts to empower women across various sectors by developing international partnerships that open doors for women to play an active role in building sustainable societies.

GWFD 2024 Key Themes

Her Excellency Mona Al Marri announced that the Forum’s discussions will focus on three key themes:  

  • Future Economies, Future Societies will explore the role of women in economic progress and their contributions to building forward-thinking societies.  
  • Collective Engagements and Collective Actions will delve into strategies for enhancing women’s social and economic participation by sharing best practices and key insights.  
  • Impactful Technologies and Impactful Innovations will highlight the Forum’s concentration on technology as a critical driver of future advancement.

GWFD 2024 Agenda

At a press event hosted at the Government of Dubai Media Office, the Dubai Women Establishment revealed the exciting agenda and a distinguished list of speakers and partners for the third edition of the Global Women’s Forum – Dubai 2024. The event, taking place on November 26 and 27 at Madinat Jumeirah under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, reflects Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision. The comprehensive agenda will hold sessions stating women’s roles in society.

Global and Local Partnerships

During the press conference, Her Excellency Mona Al Marri revealed the global partners for the 2024 Global Women’s Forum, including the World Bank Group, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Economic Forum, the Atlantic Council, and more. These international organizations will host invitation-only workshops on women’s economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, gender balance, and government policies.  

Local partners and sponsors include Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Emirates Airlines, ADNOC, Emirates Global Aluminium, e&, Cartier Women’s Initiative, and Mediclinic Middle East. Media partners include Dubai Media Incorporated, Abu Dhabi Media, Arabian Radio Network (ARN), Sky News Arabia, and others.

Impactful Sessions and Influential Speakers

Over the two-day event, the Forum will host participants from around 65 countries and feature over 130 sessions led by more than 250 influential speakers, including over 25 regional and global ministers. The Forum will also welcome prominent speakers such as Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, who will discuss cultural diplomacy and the role of culture in promoting creative societies.  

In addition, Her Highness Sheikha Hissa bint Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum will share her experiences and insights from her journey in the equestrian world.  

The Forum will not only facilitate knowledge exchange but also highlight the successful initiatives supported by the UAE to promote gender equality, further highlighting the nation’s dedication to empowering women both personally and professionally.
