Go to UAE’s Initiative Picks Up Speed: Nine Local Suppliers Join the Movement

The industrial sector in the UAE is expanding as nine new suppliers have joined the ‘Go to UAE’ initiative. This initiative is made possible by the Tawazun Council and is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT).

Go to UAE’ is a program started by Thales, a big company that works in areas like aerospace, defense, and security. The main idea of this program is to help local UAE companies grow by making more products in the country. This helps the UAE economy by creating more jobs and boosting local businesses.

New Suppliers Join

Thales has welcomed nine new suppliers from the UAE into this program. Some of these companies are:

  • Halcon Systems
  • EPI
  • Al Shurooq

By including these local companies, Thales is making its supply chain, which is the system that moves products from suppliers to customers, more reliable and efficient. Thales can get the parts and products it needs more quickly and dependably.

Thales makes sure that all the new suppliers meet very high standards. They check to see that these companies can make good, safe, reliable, and reliable products. Thales also wants to ensure that these companies operate in a way that does not harm the environment, which is called sustainability.

These UAE companies get many benefits by joining Thales’s global supply chain. They have a chance to grow their businesses because they can sell their products to more customers worldwide. They also gain recognition, which means more people will know about their good work and products.

Thales is not just buying products from these companies; it is also helping them improve. Thales has a training plan to help these companies do even better work. This training plan helps the companies learn new skills and enhance their undertaking. The training plan was introduced at the Make it in the Emirates forum.

This whole initiative is a team effort. Thales is working closely with the Tawazun Council and MoIAT. The initiative also aligns with the goals of the Tawazun Economic Programme, which aims to support and grow the UAE’s economy by developing local industries and businesses.

The third edition of the Make it in the Emirates Forum was held over two days at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center, featuring the theme “Invest. Innovate. Grow.” This event was organized in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Economic Department and ADNOC. The forum aimed to bring together the largest industrial companies and key players from across the UAE.

One of the primary goals of the forum was to share procurement plans. This allowed companies to discuss the products and services they need to buy, helping other businesses understand the current demand. This exchange of information is crucial for aligning production efforts with market needs.

Another important aspect of the forum was highlighting significant investment opportunities. Participants discussed various areas where investing money could lead to substantial returns, especially in local manufacturing and production. By focusing on these opportunities, the forum aimed to encourage more investments within the UAE.

The companies at the forum emphasized the importance of prioritizing local manufacturing. They expressed a substantial interest in funding in products made in the UAE, aiming to boost the local economy. This commitment to local production was a central theme throughout the discussions.

One innovative program highlighted at the forum was Thales’ “Go to UAE” initiative. This program supports and increases local production by collaborating with UAE-based suppliers and manufacturers. It works as an instance of how companies are taking concrete steps to invest in local products and services.

Roque Carmona, the Senior Vice President and Chief of Procurement at Thales, expressed his excitement about welcoming new suppliers into their network. He said,

“We are very happy to welcome these exceptional suppliers into our network. Bringing them on board shows our strong commitment to supporting local industrial growth. We believe that investing in new partnerships is important. It helps us foster innovation, which means encouraging new ideas and creative solutions. We also aim to drive sustainable growth, ensuring that our business practices do not harm the environment and can be maintained over the long term.

By working closely with local suppliers, we believe we can enhance our ability to deliver innovative solutions to our customers. This collaboration allows us to enhance our products and services. Additionally, partnering with local businesses helps boost the local economy. When we invest in local suppliers, we contribute to their prosperity and success. In turn, this helps the whole community grow and flourish.
