Project Selection and Evaluation

The projects that received approval under the third phase of the “Dubai 10X” initiative underwent a meticulous selection and evaluation process. These projects emerged from a rich pool of 79 project ideas, which were collaboratively developed by a dedicated team of over 120 government employees representing 33 different Dubai government entities.

The selection procedure was characterized by a dynamic exchange of expertise and the sharing of best practices among various government work streams. Additionally, more than 25 workshops were convened to facilitate discussions and refine these innovative concepts. Notably, some of these projects bore witness to substantial collaborations, with up to 11 government entities pooling their resources and expertise to bring these visionary ideas to fruition. This collaborative approach reflects the commitment to synergizing efforts and fostering a culture of innovation across the Dubai government landscape.

The project concepts considered during this phase were highly specialized, focusing on the future of government services across a diverse spectrum of sectors. These encompassed areas such as transportation, aviation, space exploration, energy, sustainability, infrastructure development, trade, finance, healthcare, security, civil defense, and community services, among others.

A comprehensive evaluation process was applied to these projects, with a keen emphasis on specific criteria. These criteria encompassed the projected future benefits, the proposed timeline for implementation, the potential for seamless integration with other government services, the broader impact within the emirate, and, significantly, the enhancement of the overall quality of life for Dubai’s residents and community members. This rigorous evaluation framework ensured that the selected projects aligned effectively with the vision of advancing government services in a manner that anticipates and addresses future needs.

The “Dubai 10X” initiative, first introduced by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in 2017, stands as a transformative force in Dubai’s landscape. Since its inception, it has played a pivotal role in driving forward a multitude of visionary projects within the city.

This initiative has been a catalyst in reshaping government services by championing the integration of innovation and technology. It has not only elevated Dubai’s global standing as a hub for progressive government ideologies and innovative business models but has also instilled a robust culture of collaboration among the diverse government entities in Dubai.

Underpinning this collaborative ethos is the seamless exchange of experiences, skills, resources, and ideas, all orchestrated within a cohesive and unified framework. The “Dubai 10X” initiative continues to be a beacon guiding Dubai towards a future defined by visionary thinking, innovation, and progressive government practices.
