UAE and Lebanon Strengthen Diplomatic, Economic Bonds as Travel Restrictions Ease

UAE: Good news for Lebanese expatriates residing in the UAE has come as the two nations have agreed to ease travel restrictions. To strengthen the mutual ties, the announcement of easing travel restrictions between the UAE and Lebanon was made in a joint statement issued during Lebanon’s President, Joseph Aoun’s, visit to the Emirates. 

During the Lebanese President’s official visit, he met with the Emirati President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed, and the two leaders talked about reinforcing cooperation across key sectors. They discussed working together and helping each other, and announced that the two countries will ease travel restrictions to make traveling simpler for people and strengthen UAE-Lebanon economic ties.

His Highness Sheikh Mohmaed welcomed the Lebanese President Aoun at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi to reinforce the mutual ties and solidify friendly relations between the two nations. The two leaders discussed mutual relations and ways to encourage cooperation across diverse sectors. 

The Emirati president expressed his hope that this visit of the Lebanese president will strengthen friendly relations between the two brotherly countries and promote their mutual goals and aspirations for development and success. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed states his desire to work together with Lebanon to encourage growth, development, security, and regional stability, and emphasized that the UAE supports Lebanon’s security and stability.

The Lebanese president expressed his gratitude and appreciated the kindness of the Emirati president to Lebanon and its people. He reaffirmed his desire to enhance bilateral ties and outlined the UAE’s support toward Lebanon and its citizens at all levels. The two leaders discussed how to promote bilateral links in diverse fields and grow investment and economic sectors through knowledge sharing, government development, and cooperative opportunities.

To strengthen UAE-Lebanon relations, the two leaders agreed to allow citizens to move between the two nations by fulfilling the necessary travel procedures. Both leaders expressed their desire to increase the degree of diplomatic representation between them and agreed to form a joint UAE-Lebanon Business Council.

Both sides also talked about the latest regional developments, their impact on regional security, and Arab-Arab relations. The Lebanese President Aoun briefed His Highness Sheikh Mohamed about the latest developments in Lebanon and regional and foreign affairs. The Emirati President emphasized the vital role of Lebanon in the Arab region and stated that the nation is a key pillar of the collective Arab cooperation. 

Hope Renewed for Lebanese Residents in UAE as Travel Restrictions Ease

The hopes for Lebanese expats living in the Emirates have renewed with positive and hopeful news of easing travel restrictions between the two brotherly nations. Rami Daoud, a Lebanese resident in Dubai working as a sales executive at a home lighting company, talked about this announcement. He said this is great news. 

He added that his Emirati boss has expressed his desire to visit Lebanon multiple times; however, the current situation and the authorities’ restricted travel plan have made it difficult. He further added that I can finally invite him to my home country and show him how beautiful the country, its people, nature, and food are. 

The news of easing travel restrictions between the UAE and Lebanon has brought new hope for Lebanese people living in the Emirates, as it can allow them to reconnect with their loved ones in their home country more often.
