For example, survey questions for the crime index took into consideration worries or general perceptions of crime levels, felt safety, and specific crimes, like property or violence.

UAE Safest Countries Worldwide

Why is the UAE the Second Safest Country in the World for 2025?

The UAE’s second rank as the safest country in the world is majorly contributed to by its strong law enforcement, strict laws, extensive surveillance, etc. From drug use and crime to public behavior, the nation has strict laws and severe penalties for their violations. These strict laws and severe penalties have consistently acted as a barrier to criminal activities, leading to lower crime rates.

Additionally, the UAE’s well-equipped police force has a strong presence and efficient focus on public security. Extensive surveillance systems, particularly in busy cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi, assist authorities in monitoring and preventing criminal offenses and activities by residents and visitors.

Another reason that contributes to the nation’s leading ranking in the safety index is its stable and prosperous economy supported by the government’s investment in social welfare and job opportunities. The perceived safety responses by women and children are high, as they can safely move around there, even at night.

This high-felt safety response is supported by well-lit streets, frequent police patrols, and strict anti-harassment laws. Not only residents but also tourists have provided positive responses regarding feeling secure in the Emirates compared to other foreign tourist destinations in the world.
