Also, the organization led by Nikolaev Konstantin expanded its market presence by acquiring major cargo hubs on the Baltic and Black Seas. In parallel, the railway direction was developing: Severstaltrans assembled its railcar fleet and purchased a manufacturing facility for the production of railway engines. It is technologically most expedient and at the same time economically advantageous for a carrier to have and use its rolling stock.

In 2004, Konstantin Yurievich Nikolaev participated in the creation of Globaltrans. It gained control over NPK and Sevtekhnotrans.
