Free ChatGPT Plus Coming Soon for Everyone in Dubai

Great news is coming for everyone living in the UAE, as they will soon gain free full access to ChatGPT’s premium tool, ChatGPT Plus. This will make the Emirates the first nation globally to provide ChatGPT Plus to all its residents at no cost. This move is a part of the strategic partnership between the Emirati government and OpenAI. Besides providing a free ChatGPT Plus UAE subscription, they are also planning to build a huge AI data center, Stargate UAE, in Abu Dhabi.

This innovative project is of great significance for OpenAI and the Emirati government. OpenAI and its partners are working on a powerful one-gigawatt AI computing system, whose first part will be about 200 megawatts, and is expected to be completed by next year. In addition, this partnership shows that the UAE wants to become a global leader in AI, and OpenAI wants to secure a strong base to grow its computing capabilities. With free access to ChatGPT Plus, the country is making a great step, as it will make the nation even more connected with the future technology.

OpenAI and Dubai Collaborate to Boost AI Adoption

Axios reported that Stargate UAE is a part of OpenAI’s new plan called OpenAI for Countries. This program is designed to help different countries develop AI systems that match their needs, with US support. OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, talking about their new initiative, said that it is a bold vision, and its goal is to ensure access to the benefits of AI, like better healthcare, modern ways of learning, and cleaner energy, to more people worldwide.

Besides this strategic partnership, globally renowned big tech companies, like Oracle, Cisco, Nvidia, SoftBank, and G42, a Middle East-based top AI company supported by Microsoft, are part of the partnership. For OpenAI, this partnership is about growing fast and building strong connections, while for the Emirates, it is a great opportunity to become the global leader in AI, and offering a free ChatGPT Plus UAE subscription is only the start of this vision.  This collaboration could also be seen as part of the best startup story in global AI history.

Dubai Will Become the First City to Offer Free ChatGPT Plus for All

One of the most exciting parts of the OpenAI and UAE government partnership is that every resident in the country will get free access to a ChatGPT Plus subscription, which is the most advanced tool of OpenAI. Millions of people are already using ChatGPT Plus for studying, coding, writing, planning trips, drafting emails, and more. And with this initiative, everyone in the Emirates will access ChatGPT’s advanced tools without even spending a dirham. It aims to make the latest technology easier for everyone, and not just tech experts.

Beyond developing large data centres, this project aims to make AI more accessible and easier to use for the people. With the OpenAI for Countries initiative, OpenAI aims to build AI that works in local languages, respects a nation’s rules, and protects users’ data. Instead of offering the same AI tool to every country, the American artificial intelligence company wants to help governments develop AI that is useful and tailor-made for each nation’s unique needs.

As a part of this partnership, the Emirati government has promised to invest as much in AI projects in the US as it does at home. As reported by Axios, this investment could add up to $20 billion, shared between the Gulf region and the US. Looking ahead, OpenAI’s Chief Strategy Officer, Jason Kwon, will visit countries across the Asia Pacific region to form similar partnerships. The American AI company said that the UAE is just the beginning, and their goal is to help more countries build AI systems helpful and useful for their local people’s needs.
