Jebel Ali Metro Station Renamed to National Paints for Next 10 Years

Dubai: Jebel Ali Metro Station, one of the busiest metro stations in Dubai, the glitzy emirate of iconic skyscrapers, is officially renamed. Under the Dubai RTA’s station naming rights programme, Jebel Ali Station’s new name for the next 10 years will be National Paints Metro Station.

On June 26, 2025, an official announcement regarding Jebel Ali Metro Station’s renaming was made by Dubai RTA. The primary reason behind renaming the station is to appreciate the consistent efforts of private companies and to build strong public-private partnerships.

New Branding to Appear Across Metro Signage and Maps

Jebel Ali station’s new name, National Paints, will soon appear across all signage, directional boards, and audio announcements. The rebranding updates will also be visible in smart apps and digital platforms used by the commuters. This decision is part of the Dubai Metro Naming Rights Programme, which allows companies across the emirate to secure branding rights at selected stations to boost their visibility at major transit hubs.

The Dubai Metro Naming Rights Project was launched in 2009, and since then, it has attracted many reputable companies. They secured naming rights with this private partnership programme to boost their brand visibility while improving the city’s transit experience. National Paints is now one of those well-known companies that have participated in this unique rebranding project.

National Paints Joins Other Big Brands on Dubai Metro

Jebel Ali Metro Station, located at the southern end of the Red Line in the JAFZA free zone, serves as a key transit point and is used by commuters to travel to and from Abu Dhabi, JAFZA, and the Expo corridor. Commuters might be surprised to find that Jebel Ali station has a new name, as it will be referred to as National Paints Metro Station for 10 years.

Regular metro users in Dubai are already aware of the RTA’s rebranding program; however, other commuters too will be updated about the station name updates. From July to the end of October 2024, the RTA will start updating the directional signs across all Metro stations, both inside the trains and on platforms.

RTA’s Rail Agency’s CEO, Abdul Mohsen Kalbat, shared the news of National Paints joining other big brands in the Metro Station Naming Rights programme. He said the involvement of the region’s reputable manufacturer in the paints and chemical industries showcases the success of this program, which is continuously attracting various companies from diverse sectors across the UAE.

On the National Paints and RTA partnership, National Paints’ MD & Partner, Samer Sayegh, said that securing the naming rights of Dubai’s one of the most important metro stations is a proud moment for the company. He added that this reflects our strong and long-term commitment to contributing to the Emirates’ urban development through innovation, sustainable practices, and high-quality products.

The renaming also marks a proud moment for National Paints, widely recognized as one of the best startup story in the UAE’s manufacturing sector—growing from humble beginnings into a trusted regional brand.

Metro Renaming in Dubai: A Continuing Trend

It is not the first time that RTA has sold the naming rights of metro stations in the UAE to big brands. Under the renaming initiative, the authority has done it previously to support the emirate’s economic growth. Like last year in September, Mashreq Metro Station was renamed to InsuranceMarket Metro Station, and last month, the UAE Exchange Metro Station was renamed to Life Pharmacy Metro Station.
